Motelrocks Haul

November 10, 2019

It has been a while since I've treated myself to some new items and I felt like it was time to refresh my wardrobe and my style for autumn and winter.

Motel Rocks is a brand that I feel genuinely represents my sense of style as its alternative theme and floral prints capture my rock chick roots. However, I wanted to invest in clothes for autumn and winter, which I could work with items already in my wardrobe such as knitwear, tights and band t-shirt. I decided to make an order online two months ago as they had an exclusive 25% promotion which meant I got a range of clothes for less £100.

I'll be honest and say it was hard to choose what I wanted from the website as there's so much choice, but I decided to play it safe and pick items that I knew I could wear for the colder months. I thought it would be best to get a midi skirt and some dresses as the prints and colours of these items would give an edgy touch to my daily outfits.  Some of my favourite ways to style these are with turtleneck jumpers, coats, biker jackets and my Dr Martens.

The Leopard Print Midi Skirt

The skirts that I purchased over the summer no longer fit me, so I knew that I needed to get a midi skirt that could keep me warm on a wintery evening. This green leopard skirt instantly caught my eye as it's vibrant shade would pair nicely with my colourful t-shirts. I also that it would look layered with jumpers and a big teddy coat. Evening wise, I thought it could be dressed up with a longsleeved bodysuit or band tee and a pair of shoes of your choice.

The Green Tea Dress

Tea dresses have always been a staple in my wardrobe of the years. With its preppy style, it can be worn throughout the year as you can easily be layered up this dress with a pair black 100 dernier tights and an oversized piece of knitwear for a cute daytime look. However, when the weather starts to get warmer again, you can ditch the layers and tights and wear this colourful dress with a denim jacket.

The tiger print slip dress

I decided to put this wild number into my basket as I loved how Motelrocks styled this tiger print slip dress on Instagram. I thought this dress was a perfect example of how you can easily incorporate a bolder print in your winter wardrobe for a daytime or evening look. I imagined myself styling this with some turtleneck jumpers and a mesh top for a Christmas or New Years Eve party.
